Ascensions

Quick Overview


Ascensions are equippable additional Skill Branches unlocked by defeating Soul Bosses. Currently there are 3 available ascensions, one from each Soul Boss. Only 2 Ascensions can be equipped at once, one for each side of the Ascension menu.

To open Ascension Branches, you will need to open the Ascension menu below your main class Skill Tree, click the eye icon and then click on the Cultivate button. From there, you can select a variety of branches from the Duality Trees to open Ascension Branches.

Ascension Branches consist of 8-11 Skills themed around the Soul Boss you unlocked it from.

Surging ascension

The Surging Ascension Branch consists of 8 Skills related to Surge, Soul of The Hollow Hero.

This Ascension is themed around creating sporadic lightning and thunder strikes to hurt enemies around you passively.

All projectiles created by this Ascension have a limit of ~25 projectiles active at once.

List of all Surging Ascension Skills and their effects

  • Lightning Surge [Costs 2 Skill Points] - All your projectiles gain a 0.5% chance to emit a short-ranged lightning surge every tick. Lightning surges deal 100% of the projectile damage.

  • Inner Lightning [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Gain a 0.66% chance to emit a short-ranged lightning surge from within your body every tick.

  • Surging Chain [Costs 2 Skill Points] - All your lightning surges gain a 0.8% chance to create a lightning chain every tick. Also increases your lightning surge range by 21%.

  • Roaring Retaliation [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Summons roaring thunder around yourself after being hurt in any way. This has a 5 second cooldown between activation.

  • Surging Synergy / Surging Summons [Costs 2 Skill Points] - While any of your abilities is active, occasionally summon roaring thunder from the sky. / All your minions gain a 1.1% chance to summon roaring thunder above the enemy on hit.

  • Surging Auras [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Whenever lightning surge hits an enemy, emit a surging aura on that location for a short time. Surging aura deals 100% of lightning surge damage.

  • Constant Thunder [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants you a 0.2% chance to summon roaring thunder in a short distance of you every tick at all times.

  • Lightning Health [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Surging auras create 1-3 healing streaks whenever they dissipate. These healing streaks restore 1-2 of your life.

Conflict Ascension

The Conflict Ascension Branch consists of 9 Skills related to Ayde & Frenzie, The Souls of Conflict.

This Ascension is themed around offensive slashes and spikes to hurt enemies around you passively and actively.

All projectiles created by this Ascension have a limit of ~12 projectiles active at once, this limit increases by 25-50% with the Spiky Amplification and Frenzied Frequency Skills.

List of all Conflict Ascension Skills and their effects

  • Ayded Spikes [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants a 16.6% chance for all your attacks to summon spikes with weak homing capabilities. These spikes deal 100% of your attack damage.

  • Time To Mourn [Costs 2 Skill Points] - All of your attacks summon a morning star that explodes into spikes whenever you hit an enemy. This effect has an 8-9 second cooldown. Morning stars deal damage based on your progression (progress is tracked with boss kills) and their spikes deal 33% of morning star damage.

  • Mourning Swarm [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Decreases the cooldown time between Time To Mourn activations by 2-3 seconds and grants a 50% chance to summon 2 morning stars instead.

  • Sweeping Ayde [Costs 2 Skill Points] - All your attacks gain a 3.7% chance to summon a morning star that splits into curving spikes from the sky.

  • Spiky Amplification [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the damage of all morning stars and their spikes by 50-75% depending on the morning star.

  • Frenzie Slashes [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants a 14.2% chance for all your attacks to create a red slash on top of the enemy. Red slashes deal 100% of your attack damage.

  • Shockwave Frenzie [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Create a long-ranged high-knockback shockwave around yourself whenever you're hurt in any way. This effect has a 3 second cooldown and deals damage based on your progression (progress is tracked with boss kills).

  • Speed Demon [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Running at high speeds causes targeted explosions around you in a small radius and gain 10% increased movement speed. Damage of targeted explosions is based on your progression (progress is tracked with boss kills).

  • Frenzied Frequency [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the frequency of red slashes and targeted explosions by 29-48%, also decreases the cooldown of Shockwave Frenzie by an additional second.

Transform Ascension

The Transform Ascension Branch consists of 9 Skills related to Array.ssc, The Soul of Transformation.

This Ascension is themed around multiple laser types and orbs to hurt enemies around you passively and actively.

All lasers created by this Ascension have a limit of ~5-10 lasers active at once depending on the laser, this limit increases by 25-50% with the Broken Programming Skill.

List of all Transform Ascension Skills and their effects

  • Variable: Direct Laser [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants a 2.8% chance for all your attacks to fire a quick discharge laser from your body. Quick discharge lasers deal 50% of your attack damage and can hit the same enemy multiple times.

  • Variable: Stolen Laser [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants an 8.3% chance to fire a large discharge laser from your body after killing an enemy. Large discharge lasers deal 100% of your attack damage and can hit the same enemy multiple times.

  • Booster: Penetrative Laser [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the amount of times all your lasers created by this Ascension can hit the same enemy multiple times by 33%.

  • Booster: Lengthy Laser [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the duration of all your lasers created by this Ascension by 50-100% depending on the laser.

  • Variable: Varying Insides [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants a 0.45% chance for your body to emit a transformation orb every tick with strong homing capabilities. Transformation orbs deal damage based on your progression (progress is tracked with boss kills).

  • Booster: Powerful Orbs [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the size and damage of all your transformation orbs by 25%.

  • Booster: Hyperspeed Orbs [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the velocity of all your transformation orbs by 100%.

  • ERROR: Defensive Orbs Malfunctioning [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Emit an array of defensive orbs whenever you take more than 50 damage from any source. This effect has a 20 second cooldown between activations, defensive orbs deal damage based on your progression (progress is tracked with boss kills).

  • Variable: Escapeless Laser [Costs 2 Skill Points] - All your attacks gain a 1% chance to fire quick discharge lasers from your body towards every direction.

  • Broken Programming [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the chances of firing lasers or emitting orbs from all Transform Ascension Skills by 5-25% depending on the Skills.

  • Nano Orbit [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Summons a permanent array of orbiting nano orbs with a dynamic range. Nano orbs deal damage based on your progression (progress is tracked with boss kills).
