Quick overview

The Melee Skill Tree consists of 75 Skills, including 2 abilities: Assassin's Resolve and Echo Eruption.

In order to completely unlock all Skills within the Melee Skill Tree, you would at minimum need to be Level 216.

This Skill Tree leans towards powerful defensive and offensive Skills favoring a DPS Tank play style. In total there are 24 defensive, 28 offensive, 4 miscellaneous and 19 ability-related Skills.

List of all Melee Skills and their effects

  • Bolster [Max Level 4] - Each level of Bolster increases your defense by 2, up to 8 defense.

  • Vitality [Max Level 5] - Each level of Vitality increases your maximum life by 4, up to 20 maximum life.

  • Residual Lifeforce [Max Level 4] - Each level of Residual Lifeforce increase your life regeneration by 1, up to 4 life regeneration.

  • Ironhearted [Max Level 5] - Each level of Ironhearted increases your damage reduction by 1%, up to 5% damage reduction.

  • Resistant Body 1 [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants complete immunity to the Bleeding and Poisoned de-buffs.

  • Missed Me [Max Level 5] - Each level of Missed Me increases your chance to avoid an attack by 0.5%, up to 2.5% evasion chance.

  • PANIC! [Max Level 4] - Each level of PANIC! increases your movement speed by 8% for 2 seconds after being hurt by any means, up to 32% movement speed for 2 seconds.

  • That's Mine [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants a 4% chance to spawn a healing projectile when you hit an enemy with your attacks.

  • Gotta Go Fast [Max Level 5] - Each level of Gotta Go Fast increases your movement speed by 3%, up to 15% movement speed.

  • Resistant Body 2 [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants complete immunity to knockback as well as the Frostburn and On Fire! de-buffs.

  • Escape [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Grants a 20% chance to survive a fatal blow inflicted upon you. Has an 80 second cooldown between activations.

  • Maximum Effort [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases your life regeneration by 2. 25% of your life regeneration is active at all times, even when under damaging de-buffs.


  • Frenzied Slashes [Max Level 5] - Each level of Frenzied Slashes increases your melee attack speed by 2%, up to 10% melee attack speed.

  • Precise Cutting [Max Level 4] - Each level of Precise Cutting increases your melee critical hit chance by 2%, up to 8% melee critical hit chance.

  • Fierce Fissures [Max Level 5] - Each level of Fierce Fissures increases your melee damage by 2%, up to 10% melee damage.

  • Can't Die Now - Increases your life regeneration by 2 for 3 seconds after getting hurt in any way.

  • Hurt Me Plenty [Max Level 4] - Each level of Hurt Me Plenty increases your melee damage by 6% for 2 seconds after getting hurt in any way, up to 24% melee damage for 2 seconds.

  • Now You See Me - Increases your immunity time by 20 frames after being hit multiple times in a short period.

  • Now You're Done [Costs 2 Skill Points] - While your immunity frames are active increases your movement speed, melee attack speed and melee damage by 20%, melee critical hit chance by 8% and defense by 5.

  • Explosive Invincibility [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Large explosive eruptions occur around you in a short range while your immunity frames are active.


  • Take Them All On 1 [Max Level 3] - Each level of Take Them All On 1 increases your melee damage by 1% for each enemy up to 5 within a 110 pixel radius around you, maximum 15 nearby enemies.

  • Take Them All On 2 [Max Level 2] - Each level of Take Them All On 2 increases your melee attack speed by 2% for each enemy up to 5 within a 110 pixel radius around you, maximum 10 nearby enemies.

  • Take Them All On 3 [Max Level 2] - Each level of Take Them All On 3 increases your defense by 1 for each enemy up to 3 within a 110 pixel radius around you, maximum 6 nearby enemies.

  • Get It Together [Max Level 2] - Each level of Get It Together increases your damage reduction by 1% for each enemy up to 5 within a 110 pixel radius around you, maximum 10 nearby enemies.

  • Take Them All On 4 [Max Level 3] - Each level of Take Them All On 4 increases your movement speed by 3% for each enemy up to 5 within a 110 pixel radius around you, maximum 15 nearby enemies.

  • Take Them All On 5 [Max Level 2] - Each level of Take Them All On 5 increases your life regeneration by 1 for each enemy up to 3 within a 110 pixel radius around you, maximum 6 nearby enemies.

  • Social Distance [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the range of the radius for previous Skills to 165 pixels from 110 pixels.


  • Assassin's Resolve [Ability 1, Costs 2 Skill Points] - Unlocks the Assassin's Resolve ability activated with the Use Ability 1 keybind. During Assassin's Resolve, increase your movement speed by 25% and all your melee attacks have a 25% chance to heal you for 5% of your damage. The duration of Assassin's Resolve is 10 seconds and has a cooldown of 130 seconds.

  • Less Waiting [Max Level 5] - Each level of Less Waiting decreases the cooldown of Assassin's Resolve by 5 seconds, up to a 25 second cooldown decrease.

  • More Doing [Max Level 5] - Each level of Less Waiting increases the duration of Assassin's Resolve by 2 seconds, up to a 10 second duration increase.

  • Assassin's Knowledge Boost - Increases the amount of EXP gained from killing enemies by 10-50% depending on the enemy while Assassin's Resolve is active.

  • Bloody Frenzy [Max Level 4] - Each level of Bloody Frenzy increases your melee attack speed by 6% while Assassin's Resolve is active, up to 24% melee attack speed.

  • Invincible Benefits - Increases your immunity time by 15 frames while Assassin's Resolve is active.

  • Stealthy Precision [Max Level 5] - Each level of Stealthy Precision increases your melee critical hit chance by 4% while Assassin's Resolve is active, up to 20% melee attack speed.

  • Like The Wind [Max Level 4] - Each level of Like The Wind increases your chance to evade any damage by 3% while Assassin's Resolve is active, up to 12% evasion chance.

  • Counterforce - When evading any damage while Assassin's Resolve is active, increase your melee damage by 20% for 3.5 seconds.


  • Sword Prism [Max Level 6] - Each level of Sword Prism increases the chance for your melee attacks to create a Sword Prism on hit by 2%, up to 12% creation chance. Damage of Sword Prisms are dependant on the weapon used to create them.

  • Hellfire Prism [Max Level 3] - Each level of Hellfire Prism increases the chance for a Sword Prism to be inflicted with Hellfire by 11%, up to 33% chance. Hellfire Prisms deal 20% increased damage and explode on enemy contact.

  • Scorching Hellfire [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases your Hellfire Prism damage by an extra 15% and velocity by 13%.

  • Hellfire Explosion [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the size and damage of Hellfire Prism explosions by 50%.

  • Frostbite Prism [Max Level 3] - Each level of Frostbite Prism increases the chance for a Sword Prism to be inflicted with Frostbite by 11%, up to 33% chance. Frostbite Prisms shatter into multiple shards on contact. These shards deal 33% of the Frostbite Prisms damage.

  • Hypothermic Frostbite [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases your Frostbite Prism damage by an extra 25% and velocity by 9%.

  • Crumbled Frostbite [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the amount of shards created when a Frostbite Prism shatters by 50%.

  • Shadowflame Prism [Max Level 3] - Each level of Shadowflame Prism increases the chance for a Sword Prism to be inflicted with Shadowflame by 11%, up to 33% chance. Shadowflame Prisms are smaller and deal 5% less damage, but multiple Shadowflame Prisms are created at a time.

  • Accursed Shadowflame [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases your Shadowflame Prisms damage by an extra 25% and velocity by 12%.

  • Shadowflame Coven [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Another additional Shadowflame Prism is created when a Sword Prism gets inflicted with Shadowflame.

  • Prism Expertise [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Doubles the chances of creating a Sword Prism on hit, up to 24% creation chance.


  • Do or Die 1 [Max Level 4] - Each level of Do or Die 1 increases your movement speed up to 9% depending on your remaining life, up to 36% movement speed when at or below 10% life.

  • Do or Die 2 [Max Level 4] - Each level of Do or Die 2 increases your melee attack speed up to 10% depending on your remaining life, up to 40% melee attack speed when at or below 10% life.

  • What Doesn't Kill You [Max Level 4] - Each level of What Doesn't Kill You increases your life regeneration up to 4 depending on your remaining life, up to 16 life regeneration when at or below 10% life.

  • Do or Die 3 [Max Level 4] - Each level of Do or Die 3 increases your defense up to 5 depending on your remaining life, up to 20 defense when at or below 10% life.

  • Lively Discovery - While your life is at your current maximum, increase EXP gained from killing all enemies by 100%.

  • Try And Try Again [Costs 2 Skill Points, Max Level 3] - Each level of Try And Try Again increases your chance to evade any attack up to 4% depending on your remaining life, up to 12% chance for evasion when at or below 10% life.

  • Potent Smoke Bomb [Costs 2 Skill Points] - When you evade any attack in any way, create a big explosion on the location of the evasion.

  • Sickly Respite [Max Level 3] - Each level of Sickly Respite increases the chance for your melee attacks to inflict a random damaging de-buff on the enemy up to 12% depending on your remaining life, up to 36% chance to inflict a random damaging de-buff when at or below 10% life.

  • Tougher Toxins [Costs 2 Skill Points] - De-buffs inflicted by Sickly Respite have their duration increased by 100%.


  • Sparks [Max Level 3] - All your melee projectiles have a 1.7% chance every tick to emit damaging Sparks that deal 12.5% of the projectiles damage when they travel, up to 50% of the projectiles damage.

  • Sparky Evolution - Increases the velocity of your Sparks by 225% and grants a 17% chance for the Spark to have weak homing capabilities.

  • Intelligent Sparks [Costs 2 Skill Points] - All Sparks emitted by your melee projectiles have a 100% chance for weak homing capabilities.

  • Sparks Go Boom [Max Level 3] - All Sparks emitted by your melee projectiles have a 10% chance to explode on enemy contact, up to 30% chance to explode on contact.

  • Sparks Go KABOOM [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Increases the size and damage of the explosions created by your Sparks by 100%.


  • Healing Streaks [Max Level 4] - All your melee attacks have a 1.7% chance to emit a weak Healing Streak on enemy contact, up to 6.8% chance to emit weak Healing Streaks on contact.

  • Potent Streaks [Max Level 5] - Increases the amount of life regained from your Healing Streaks by 1, up to 5 extra regained life from Healing Streaks.

  • Fierce Streaks - When Healing Streaks pass through enemies, deal 25% of your currently held weapon damage to them.

  • Amplified Streaks [Costs 2 Skill Points] - While any ability is active, increase your chances of emitting weak Healing Streaks on enemy contact by 100%. This effects can stack with multiple active abilities at once, up to 200% weak Healing Streak chance.


  • Echo Eruption [Ability 2, Costs 2 Skill Points] - Unlocks the Echo Eruption ability activated with the Use Ability 2 keybind. During Echo Eruption, decrease your movement speed and melee damage by 25%. When you hit an enemy with a melee attack, create an eruption dealing 50% of your currently held melee weapon damage. The duration of Echo Eruption is 10 seconds and has a cooldown of 150 seconds.

  • Quicker Echo [Max Level 5] - Each level of Quicker Echo decreases the cooldown of Echo Eruption by 8 seconds, up to a 40 second cooldown decrease.

  • Longer Eruption [Max Level 5] - Each level of Longer Eruption increases the duration of Echo Eruption by 1 second, up to a 5 second duration increase.

  • Eruptive Knowledge Boost - Increases the amount of EXP gained from killing enemies by 10-50% depending on the enemy while Echo Eruption is active.

  • Bigger Boom - Increases the size by 75% and damage by 25% of eruptions created by Echo Eruption.

  • One More Time [Max Level 5] - Each level of One More Time increases the chances for eruptions to damage enemies twice by 2%, up to 10% chance while Echo Eruption is active.

  • Echo Echo [Max Level 5] - Each level of Echo Echo increases the chances for your attacks to create a secondary eruption by 2%, up to 10% chance while Echo Eruption is active.

  • Ultimate Echo Echo [Costs 2 Skill Points] - Secondary eruptions created by Echo Echo are 75% bigger and deal 50% more damage than your normal eruptions while Echo Eruption is active.

  • Fast Pace - Your movement speed will no longer be decreased by 25% while Echo Eruption is active.

  • Cleave Through - Your melee damage will no longer be decreased by 25% while Echo Eruption is active.
